In all those years that the Airgunners visited Dronten they stayed with host families. What begins with the 'normal' opening of the home for a week, ends in long-term contacts.

Host families and Airgunners become relatives and very strong ties develop. They visit each other and are present at special events in peoples life.

Without the commitment of the host families the Dronten commemoration would not be what it is now.
